Boys & Tyler Financial Group, Inc., the original parent company to Medical $avings Accounts, Inc. and HSA-Health $avings Accounts, Inc., was originally incorporated in 1986. Graduates of St. John’s University and the University of Minnesota Business School respectively, Timothy J. Boys and John T. Tyler, II began working together on February 1, 1981 in the John Hancock Mutual Life company in Minneapolis.

Since that time Boys & Tyler Financial Group, Inc. has custom designed, implemented and developed employee benefit plans for nearly 300 employer clients, and personal insurance and investment plans for hundreds of individuals. They offer:

                   ~ short term and long term disability insurance plans, 
                   ~ voluntary life, 
                   ~ voluntary dental, 
                   ~ voluntary long term care and

In light of the complex issues surrounding group health insurance plans and the large rate of premium increases our group medical insurance clients had been receiving, John became involved in the political debate by joining Rep. Jim Ramstad’s Health Care Committee, Chairing the Allen Quist for Governor Health Care Advisory Committee, and Vice Chairing the Republican Health Care Task Force 1994-1996. John’s involvement in the development of the Health Care Savings Account concept in the Quist for Governor Health Committee and having worked to ultimately see federal Medical Savings Account and Health Savings Account legislation become law has made him an authority on the issue of both Qualified and Non-Qualified Savings Accounts for health care needs. Since 1993, Boys & Tyler Financial Group, Inc. has been very involved in the process of implementing both Non-Qualified and Tax-Qualified Medical Savings Accounts, and as of January 1, 2004, Health Savings Account plans. References available upon request.
